Born 1980 in Cairo / Egypt. Began studies of Computer Science at the University of Bonn in October 1998, obtaining the degree Diplom Informatiker (MSc in Computer Science) in October 2003. From January 2004 till October 2005 he was a Ph.D. student in the Mobile Computing Systems Group at the University of Dortmund. Since November 2005 he is a Ph.D. student in the Computer Networks and Distributed Systems Group at the University of Leipzig. His research interests include mobile ad-hoc/mesh networks and the design of efficient network protocols. He particularly works on the development of TCP within a novel mesh testbed.
